The Metal Dome Keypad STC-MD is manufactured using a compression molding process.  It uses heat and pressure to give a product its final form.  In a pre-heated cavity, a vertical press mechanism is used to shape and apply wide-meshed cross-linking to the silicone in its plastic state. After the vulcanization process, the metal domes are adhered.

Compression molding consumes less material than injection molding, since no sprue channels, sprues, or gates are required for shaping the product. As a result, it is perfect for superior, aesthetic, and functionally refined surfaces.
